\r\nWhen you want something, ask, \u201cIf I get this, what will it give me?\u201d For example: \u201cIf I get the job I want, it will give me money, security, and a chance to express my talents.\u201d Then ask again: \u201cAnd if I get that, what will that give me?\u201d The answer may be: \u201cWith money, I can live in a comfortable home, I\u2019ll feel safe, so I can relax, and I\u2019ll have joy in contributing something I value in myself.\u201d Ask: \u201cHow will that make me feel?\u201d Perhaps: \u201cI\u2019ll feel good and loved.\u201d What qualities of life that are essential to you are you wanting? Love? Relaxation? Peace? Freedom? Or something else?
\r\nAs you recognize the deeper qualities of life that you are really longing for when you want something, you naturally connect with your deeper resources and strengths within. Connecting with your strengths gives you the trust to go for what is really important for you in your life.
